My Ride Center

If you've come this far, you probably already know that I'm committed to participating in the Minnesota Red Ribbon Ride. I'm one of the courageous participants that are taking the challenge to raise funds for seven Minnesota-based AIDS service organizations.

But to achieve this I need your help. In fact, I'm going to need support from many people to reach my goal. I'm hoping that I can count on you to be part of my support team.

Will you support me?

You can make a donation to my fundraising campaign right here by clicking on "Click here to make a gift to (name)", just above the thermometer. If you prefer to write a check, you can download a donation form by using the link at the bottom of the page. If you want to participate in the event with me, you can register now on this site. It will prove to be an amazing event!

Over the next few months I plan to update this page frequently so you can follow my progress, so please visit often. While you're here you might want to spend some time on the site to find out more about why this event is so important, and learn about the people who will benefit from the money we raise.

Again, thank you for your support!

-Gwen

Beginning Training
Well I have done it, I have made the switch back to a road bike. I have been riding a recumbent (where you sit down with your feet in front of you) for over a decade. It is such a nice ride, but I wanted to be back on a normal bike. So that means my back is getting so much better. I am actually recovering from L4 and L5 being degenerative. I did Vax-D to decompress those discs and now I am strengthening all of my core muscles and I am doing well!! That has been one of my personal goals in doing AIDS rides since the beginning and I am thrilled to be accomplishing it.
To strengthen my body I have been doing P90X (http://beachbody.com). Either you know how intense that one is, or you are wondering, what is that??? It is an intense workout program designed to last 90 days. I am now on day 33 and oh my. I have been sore almost every day and it is wonderful ;).
I have also been on two good rides (for me so far) on my new bike of about 20 miles each. A nice start to my training.
