bicycle_suitcaseYou are responsible for transporting your bicycle to and from the event. There are different ways you can travel and transport your bicycle. You will need to take into consideration assembly and disassembly of your bicycle for all bike boxes.

Bike Boxes & Suitcases
You will need a bike box or bike suitcase to transport your bike on a plane, train, bus, or if you choose to ship your bike. Bike boxes vary in style and cost and it's your choice what kind of investment you would like to make. There are hard shell cases, soft shell cases and card board options for you to select from. Please research options and contact the office if you have questions.

Bike Shipping
Shipping your bike can be very convent however you will have to allow time away from your bike while it is being shipped. Shipbikes.com is a great resource for a variety of options on bike shipping. Be sure to let them know when your bike needs to arrive so they can tell you what date you will need to ship your bike on. You will need to take into consideration assembly and disassembly of your bicycle for all bike boxes.

Bike Assembly/Disassembly
You may need to work with your local bicycle shop to help you package your bicycle for transport if you are shipping or flying with your bicycle. If you do need assistance with assembly and disassembly you will need to work with a bicycle shop in Minneapolis as well. Please contact Erik's Bikes to find out more information on what is needed so they can offer assistance to you prior to and after the Ride.

planes-trains-automobiles1.jpgYou are responsible for your transportation to and from Minnesota for the Red Ribbon Ride. Once you have your flight, train ride or car pool set you are almost done. You will need to also provide transportation for yourself for Check In, Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony. We highly recommend using the Light Rail, Uber, Lyft or other taxi services for your transportation. Please be sure to get a vehicle large enough for you, your gear and your bike.  To use the Light Rail please make sure you are on the route or select hotel options near a Light Rail Station. Stations are located at the airport, Mall of America and St. Capital.
