CLARE HOUSINGclare_housing3.jpg

Founded in 1987, Clare Housing is the oldest and largest provider of permanent housing and supportive services for Minnesota’s low-income and homeless individuals and families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Clare Housing has grown from one community care home serving four people to developing, owning and managing 116 units, serving 150 people annually. Our unique model of housing and supportive care is designed to guide people toward wholeness and self-sufficiency.

The goal of Clare Housing is greater than simply providing housing for people living with HIV/AIDS. In addition to homelessness, poverty and HIV/AIDS, many residents struggle with substance abuse or have mental health issues. Clare Housing’s enriched services provide the opportunity to chart an individualized path to stable housing and improved health outcomes. Simply put, our goal is to ensure our residents achieve the highest levels of housing stability and independence while maintaining their dignity at any stage of their illness.

Between four foster homes (Agape Home, Agape Dos, Damiano, and Grace House II) Clare Apartments, and Clare Midtown, the organization operates half of the housing designated for people living with HIV/AIDS in Minnesota, establishing them as the largest provider of HIV housing and services in the state.
