Camp One Heartland is a very special place where kids who are impacted by HIV/AIDS can come and just be kids. At Camp you will get to experience first hand what these incredible children experience and see where your donations go. It's an magical place and we hope you enjoy it.
Sleeping in Camp
In Camp you can enjoy one of the multi bed cabins with a group of friends or new friends you have yet to meet. You may also bring a tent and stay in the great outdoors. You will need to bring your own bedding and if you choose to tent your own tent. It is cold at the end of September so prepare to be warm. The cabins are heated but there is still a chill to crisp autumn air.
Minnesota fall can be unpredictable like all seasons here. The weather can range from a perfect fall day to cold and wet or even snowy. Be prepared, bring layers and your rain gear.
Along the Route and in Camp we have weather shelters and evacuation plans in case of a sever storm. In extreme cases we may need to cancel the Route for the day or part of the day and transport all participants back to Camp.
When you enter Camp you MUST check in put your bike in Bike Parking. Bike parking is in the main lodge where your bike can stay dry and out of the weather. Your bike will be safe in the Bike Parking area in the main lodge.
You will be served a hot breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in camp, and plenty of snacks. We offer vegetarian options but cannot accommodate all special dietary restrictions. If there is something you must have please plan to bring it with you. If you have questions or concerns regarding food please contact the office directly. Breakfast is open from 5:30am to 7:00am. Lunch is open from 11:00am to 1:00pm and Dinner is open from 5:00pm to 7:00pm daily.
Shower houses are located throughout Camp and you are able to use the one closest to your cabin. Please inquire if you have questions about showers.
Camp Night Life
Night life at Camp is a lot of fun. Friday night is relaxed as everyone is just arriving. The main lodge will have snacks and a great fire going. Many participants spend this time socializing and catching up with friends. Saturday night we have a big bon fire, s'mores and a big screen movie that is a true blast.
We have a small Camp Store with Pedal Camp and Red Ribbon Ride merchandise available. You can also register for the following years event or the Red Ribbon Ride while at Camp at a discounted rate.
No Pets are allowed on the Red Ribbon Ride.
Drugs & Fire
Pedal Camp is a Drug free event. No fire arms, fireworks, or open flames are allowed. Camp One Heartland Staff will start and maintain the fire that we have.
