Let's Make a Difference!
From July 21 - 24, 2016 I will be riding my single-speed bicycle for 300 miles to raise vital funds for eight HIV/AIDS service organizations in Minnesota; providing treatment, prevention and harm reduction.
I am riding as a queer, transgender woman. I am riding to raise money and awareness for communities that are disproportionately impacted by HIV. For instance, transgender women have some of the highest rates of HIV, yet they are often left out of programs and services for preventing and treating HIV. I want to prioritize transgender people's health in larger conversations about HIV in our communities. I want to bring attention to the ways that racism and sexism are contributing to HIV rates in transgender communities. And you can rest assure that I will look damn good while doing it!
Your support will help fund important resources for people living with HIV and those who are vulnerable and at risk of acquiring HIV - including condoms, free syringes, case management, and education. We have the tools to prevent new infections in Minnesota, and to provide care for everyone living with HIV in Minnesota. We need everyone's help to make it happen.
Thank you for your support!
