Final Update - Take II: The Day Before We RIDE!
This is absolutely unreal ... I literally wrote what I thought would be my last update before tomorrow's start of the 2016 Red Ribbon Ride a few hours ago. I went home, mowed the lawn, had some dinner with Donnie, packed, and then sat down at the computer to wind down. Suddenly, I noticed that I had several more donations from AWESOME friends ... and WOW, I have now met my latest (and last) fundraising goal, reaching $5500 from 89 total donors!! I am moved more than ever, inspired beyond words, and NOW I'm ready for tomorrow to get here:) Thank you, Thank you ... THANK YOU ALL for this tremendous and (for me) unprecedented outpouring of support for the Ride.
In five previous years, I have never received this much love from people from all over ... Thank you friends and family from Virginia, Florida, Minnesota, Wyoming, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Massachusetts, Illinois, North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, New York, Texas, California, Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Colorado, South Carolina, and from friends living in Kenya ... You are ALL so amazing, and I cannot be more thankful for your friendship and support!! What you have done is show me, once again, that people have a great capacity to give, and that people from all over care about people living with HIV/AIDS. I cannot say enough good things about your generosity and good will toward people you may never know. Thank You, THANK YOU!!
I encourage you all to keep the riders and crew in your thoughts as we brave the elements over the the next four days. I'm confident that it will be an incredible experience! If you are on Facebook, please feel free to check in to see how I'm doing. If you're not on Facebook, visit the Red Ribbon Ride page to receive photos as we bike across southern Minnesota.
Finally, I invite those of you who are local to come down to the Capitol on Sunday, July 24, for the Ride In Ceremony. Check the Ride webpage for the exact time.
Thanks again for ALL of your support! Tomorrow we ride:)
