Support Greta on the 2016 Red Ribbon Ride!
Dear Family and Friends,
I am so excited to share with you that this summer I am once again participating in the Red Ribbon Ride! The Red Ribbon Ride is an annual 4 day, 300+ mile bike ride that raises funds for eight AIDS service organizations in Minnesota, including my work place the Minnesota AIDS Project. These organizations provide vital support, advocacy, and services to thousands of Minnesotans living with HIV and those at risk for infection.
In my position as the Legal Program Assistant at MAP I see firsthand the barriers faced by people living with HIV as well as the tremendously positive impact that treatment and prevention services offer the community. Each day brings new sets of challenges and victories, both of which encourage my passion for this work and determination to do my part. My hope is that by participating in the ride I can further spread awareness of the importance of HIV services and raise much needed funds to ensure they continue.
This will be my third year participating in the ride, and each year it is an intense challenge that constantly makes me reevaluate what I’m physically capable of. I bike through rain, heat, wind, and hills and work to the point of exhaustion just to wake up the next morning and do it all over again. With these difficulties comes the opportunity to spend entire days cycling through the beautiful, peaceful countryside of rural Minnesota. I spend time with a community of people dedicated to this cause who inspire me the whole way. I finish the journey with a sense of personal accomplishment, a deep respect for those around me, and a knowledge that all of these efforts benefit HIV services that are necessary and worthwhile.
In order to ride again this year, I need to raise $1,500, and I need your help to reach my goal. You can make a donation right here by clicking on the "Donate Now" button. If you prefer to write a check, you can download a donation form using the link at the bottom of this page.
I am grateful for your donations and thank you for your support. Know that you are making a difference for thousands of Minnesotans living with HIV and those at risk for HIV. As I train and prepare for my third year on the ride, I will continue to be motivated and encouraged by your thoughts and well wishes. I look forward to participating in the ride, and I couldn't do it without your help. Thank you for making it possible.
With Love, Greta
