Hello everyone,

If you have made it to this note, then you know that Mark and I will be participating in the Red Ribbon Ride July 18-21, 2013.  We hope you join us in raising funds for eight Minnesota AIDS service organizations. I truly knew I had married well when Mark agreed to do this with me in celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary which is in April 2013.

Both of us are doing this in honor of the many friends we have who work tirelessly to bring civil rights to the GLBT community.  We thought riding our bikes was a way to honor them and thank them.  I also lost one of my closet high school friends to AIDS so I will have his name on my bike handlebars as I ride.

I also wanted to do my part to support and thank the riders who have ridden for so many years on the YWCA of Minneapolis team that will be in the Red Ribbon Ride.
