Dear Friends & Family,
I am excited to share with you that I will be participating in the 2010 Minnesota Red Ribbon Ride. This will be my sixth year riding 300 miles through southern Minnesota. You have received this email because you have supported me in the past or I'd like to invite you to support me this year. This year is particularly special because, with your help, I will surpass $10,000 raised for AIDS Service Organizations around Minnesota over the last six years.
Another exciting change this year is the addition of One Heartland to the list of beneficiaries. One Heartland is dedicated to greatly improving the lives of children, youth, and their families facing HIV/AIDS and other life challenges worldwide. The other beneficiaries include African American AIDS Task Force, The Aliveness Project, Clare Housing, Hope House of St. Croix Valley, Minnesota AIDS Project (MAP), Park House, and Rural AIDS Action Network (RAAN). Many Minnesotans depend on these organizations to be able to live and those organizations are dependent on funds from this ride to keep their doors open.
To participate in this 300-mile bike ride, I must raise $1500. I also need to train every weekend until mid July. I will take care of the training and riding, but I need you to help out with the fundraising. Please consider supporting me on this ride; your donation will go directly to the eight beneficiaries listed above.
Since this is a special year, I want to change it up a bit. I have two $25 dollar gift cards to Target that I am going to give away. The first gift card will be given away via raffle. For every $10 donated you will get one raffle ticket. For example, if you donated $100, you would get 10 raffle tickets. I will be drawing the winner on Friends & Family night during the ride. The second gift card will automatically go to the person that puts me over $10,000 raised. It has to happen this year.
