Help Me Make My Difference.
I’ve decided to do something a little crazy,
I’ve been so fortunate, but sometimes in our busy lives it often feels challenging to find the time to be present to the needs of others and to find the time to give back. That is why starting on August 16th I will be participating on the Red Ribbon Ride. Red Ribbon Ride 2019 is a 3 day, 200 mile bicycle ride from Minneapolis to Duluth that raises vital funds for five HIV/AIDS service organizations in Minnesota; providing HIV treatment, prevention and awareness.
I need your help to reach my goal. I hope I can count on you to support me on my journey of hope for thousands of Minnesotans with HIV/AIDS and those at risk of infection.
Funds raised benefit a number of worthy organizations. One of those is the Rural AIDS Action Network (RAAN). I participated in this event 2 years ago. It was then that I first learned about RAAN. Due to the opioid epidemic, RAAN has seen a large increase in the number of people in rural areas contracting HIV, and in need of support. At that time, RAAN's largest expense was transportation, simply getting people to someone who could help them. I can't imagine how helpless these people must feel, first finding themselves addicted to prescribed pain killers, then not able to find healthcare professionals in their communities to help them.
I'm riding for these people, and all the people these charities help. I hope you will join me. I’d like to invite you to join me in this effort.
Thank you for your support!
