Help Me Make My Difference.
I started riding my bicycle in 1999 to raise funds for HIV/AIDS charities. My best friend from Air Force days tested positive for HIV in 1990 and I signed up to honor him. I thought it would be a one-time thing.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, this year's Red Ribbon Ride will be a virtual ride. Each rider is supposed to ride 200 miles by September 7, Labor Day. Since I've already ridden almost 400 miles, my personal goal is 1,000 miles by Labor Day.
Raising funds for the beneficiaires is very important this year. Due to the pandemic, fund-raising events hae been cancelled. One beneficiary, One Heartland, which operates camps for children affeted in some way by HIV/AIDS, has cancelled all programs for the summer and is in danger of closing its doors. My personal goal for this years is $5,000.
I need your help to reach my goal. I hope I can count on you to support me on my journey of hope for thousands of Minnesotans with HIV/AIDS and those at risk of infection. Thank you for your support!
