Together we can be the change
From July 21 - 24, 2016 I will be participating in my 3rd Red Ribbon Ride and 5th AIDS-related bicycle event! The Red Ribbon Ride is a 4 day, 300 mile bicycle ride that raises vital funds for eight HIV/AIDS service organizations in Minnesota; providing treatment, prevention and awareness.
Whether you are making a donation, crewing or pushing those pedals these are all vital roles and are meaningful ways we can all show our commitment to the cause. Together we can provide hope for thousands of Minnesotans with HIV/AIDS and those at risk of infection. Even if you live far from Minnesota you can see the ripples of what we do here extend well beyond this great state.
While you're here, spend some time on the site to find out more about why this event is so important, and learn about the people who will benefit from the money we raise. Thank you for your support!
My Personal Web Log
Getting super excited, Just picked up my bicycle from Erik's bike shop for some last minute tweaks.
Thanks to Kate for helping me prep, pack and for being there and for being supportive of me spending hours on the road out training.
Thanks to my fellow TRLs for helping to motivate us and showing us the way.
Finally, thanks to all my donors and supporters for your belief and encouragement. The next four days will be hard, they will be extremely hot they will be long but they will also be fun full of small adventures and a celebration of everything we've accomplished this year.
Thank You All
Love, EM rider 1100

9 days, 9 days, 9 days
Well last weekends 70 mile ride to Hope House and double Myrtle Hill climb in Stillwater was great and humbling experience. Hope house is one of our beneficiary sites and after a hard hill climb the peacefulness of that home is all the more apparent.
So to help Hope House and all of our beneficiaries I'm turning to you to help me as I'm just $65.00 from 2k! And as soon as we ascend that hill we turn our eyes to the stretch goal prize which is raising $3001 dollars.
However, it will take a community to reach 3001 by the day of the ride but I never thought 2k was achievable given all the curveballs I've been thrown in 2016... yet here we are so close!
Thanks again to everyone who has donated and everyone who has expressed support it means so much! If your considering donating now is the time!

21 Days Left to go
Alright I survived a 70 mile route scouting adventure to Stillwater last Saturday. Our team of 3 scoped out the route and made it home safely despite the 100 degree plus day. We are now looking forward to hosting the July 9th training ride event! I even had enough gas in the tank to round out a 35 mile ride the following the day.
This weekend is also packed with training rides including another 80 miler to Stillwater, a 70 miler to Rosemount and a 35 miler Watermelon ride. Anywhere from 160-190 miles!
Then there's the fundraising piece. I'm now officially above the ride minimum but am seeking ways to reach 2,000 and eventually 3k! by July 20th! I really don't have a corporate donor/matching to support me this year so I am trying to think outside the box. If you have any ideas please let me know!

30 Days Left to Go
Just came back from a team fundraiser last night at the Pilgramage with Team Bears! Don'tcha Know. Which was alot of fun. Many generous donations are starting to come in and have pushed me to within 700 of my first stretch goal of 2k! Thanks to everyone; hitting 3k before the start of the ride can now be seen just over that next hill. Lets hope I find new ways to make that happen!

51 Days to Go
Getting really excited to as we count down to the last few weeks before we hit the road for the ride! I have two great training rides coming up this weekend, one this Saturday which is 55 miles with Team Bear! Look for photos on my facebook page.
I'm also co-leading Joe Ede's Memorial Day ride where we ride to visit several Clare Housing locations and other sites that have benefited from the ride over the years. We hear stories of triumph and tragedy from those whose lives have been touched by this disease; it is truly a humbling and inspiring experience!

The Pour House
Excited to be going to the Red Ribbon Ride launch party tonight to catch up my team, Team Bears!, as well as see what the RRR has in store for us this year!
It has already been fun participating in a Team Bear fundraiser at Grant City as well as going to the Bryant Lake Bowl and Bar Lurcat first Friday events. The ride is building momentum and it is fun to meet new and old faces.
