One Person. One Difference.
In July 1997 I rode my bicycle 500 miles in 6 days from Minneapolis, MN to Chicago, IL as part of a charity related cycling event called the "Twin Cities>Chicago AIDS Ride." The fundraiser helped raised funds for AIDS Service Organizations in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Little did I know at the time, that my life would soon change forever...
On October 8th 1997 I received the news I was diagnosed HIV+. I called my best friend Todd the next day and he told me he had been diagnosed as well earlier that very same year.
I decided right then and there that I would again participate in the Twin Cities>Chicago AIDS Ride in July 1998. Shortly after the event, my best friend, Mr. Todd Allen Rose lost his battle with HIV/AIDS on August 4th, 1998. He was just 31 years old.
Since that time I have participated in 46 multi-day charity cycling events around the globe for AIDS also known as "AIDS Rides."
Since 1997 I have personally raised over $100,000.00 for AIDS Service Organizations riding my bicycle around the United States to help raise funds and raise continued awareness that HIV/AIDS is not over. Far from it.
I ride for those who can't, I ride for those we've lost and I ride because I can... I will continue to ride until I can't or until there is a cure...
I've been incredibly blessed to have met so many wonderful, incredible caring people since my journey began 20 years ago, all fighting for one common goal; to end AIDS. To help those who might not be able to help themselves. To support the AIDS Service Organizations who work tirelessly to be able to bring services to their clients 365 days a year. Many of these organizations were not be able to continue their work without the generosity and support of these types of cycling events.
Thank you for friendship, your support and LOVE. To continue the support that HIV/AIDS is far from over!! Ride on!

From July 13 - 16, 2017 I will be participating on the 15th Anniversary Red Ribbon Ride, my 47th AIDS Ride. The Minnesota Red Ribbon Ride is a 4 day, nearly 300 mile bicycle ride that raises vital funds for seven HIV/AIDS service organizations in Minnesota; providing treatment, prevention and awareness.
I need your help to reach my goal. I have set a HUGE goal of $20,000.00 to help commemorate these past 20 years...
I hope I can count on you to help support me on my continued journey of hope for thousands of Minnesotans with HIV/AIDS and those at risk of infection.
Thank you for your support!
