Team Corn Cob was Bicycle Bandits in 2008
Our slogan: Fight AIDS: Spread the Word not the Disease
Team Corn Cob is a fun group of people ranging in age from early 20s to mid 50s. Team members are from the Twin Cities, Florida and California. Personalities range from independent fast riders to slow riders who enjoy riding with someone. Some don’t require assistance with fundraising and others want help. As a team, we help riders who want assistance to brainstorm on fundraising ideas and support them through their efforts. We have experienced Red Ribbon Riders and people who are doing it for the first time.
Although this is the first year we came up with the name “Team Corn Cob,” some of the people have been riding for years so these are a few of our team’s traditions:
·Day Zero (the night before the Red Ribbon Ride) the team meets for a carb-loading dinner.
·We’re planning on participating in helmet decorating and tent decorating days during the ride. Many of us stay in hotels; however, we plan to help the tenting group decorate their tents with corn cob paraphernalia.
·The last day of the Red Ribbon Ride, the team rides the whole route together as a group.
As a team leader, since I can’t do everything myself, I am requesting assistance from team members to help make some of these traditions happen.
We invite anyone interested to join our eclectic group of team members on Team Corn Cob!
